Here's a book you won't forget!
Al Cassidy knows just how to capture a person's imagination! I, too, could not wait to get into Linhurst and unlock the secrets of the past. Finding out electrified me! To have all this excitement in the mix of a well balanced, close family and a group of typical teenagers heightened the contrast between good and evil, compassion and cruelty, justice and injustice. If you are looking for a fascinating book, here it is!

Very entertaing...
I really enjoyed this book! I could not wait to find out the ending! Having a grandmother who worked as a nurse at the real Pennhurst School, I could relate to parts of the story. Thanks Al for writting such an entertaining book and for bringing the issue of mental illness to young ones. I hope you are working on more books!

I finished the book. It was great. The characters were well developed and believable. The story line held my interest and had me anxious to see how it ended. I loved that you included so many local interest items i.e. the power plant, ex. Pennhurst (Linhurst) residents in town,... Your book was easy to read and had a delightful story line.

I really enjoyed Freeing Linhurst. Love the illustrations! Jack's doggedness to find the truth held my interest to the end. In addition to being easy to read fiction, the real-life story about how we care(d) for those in our society with mental illness is educational, especially for our youth. Well done, Al!
