Hazardous Weather Outlook. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas. Day one. Today and Tonight. Patchy fog will be possible through the morning hours. It will scatter out after sunrise. Showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue today, primarily over the northern half of Arkansas. Stronger storms will be efficient rainfall producers and capable of producing quite a bit of rain in a short period of time. Due to already saturated ground from heavy rains and ongoing flooding, it will not take much rain to cause flash flooding or runoff issues. Also, while an isolated strong storm won`t be out of the question, the overall threat of severe thunderstorms is low. Meanwhile, the Arkansas River will remain high, with flooding continuing at all forecast points along the river. Days two through seven. Saturday through Thursday. Flooding will continue through the next seven days. Arkansas River levels will remain high for quite some time. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Friday and Saturday. The threat of any severe storms will remain low. For those working outdoors, assisting with the ongoing Arkansas River flooding, be aware of the lightning hazard associated with approaching thunderstorms. Have a shelter in mind should storms approach your area. Heavy rainfall will be possible with any stronger storms that develop in the coming days. Spotter Information Statement. Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time.
