Frogcast 008: Ever wondered about life as a actor? Meet Actor, Poet and Playwright, Kit Sinclair!
Description
In this episode we talk to the gorgeous and humorous actress Kit Sinclair, where she shares her journey into acting, and early success with her lead role in Neil Simon’s ‘I Ought To Be In Pictures’ at the Manchester Home Theatre where she won the Manchester Evening News award for Best Newcomer.
She shares the other side of TV adverts, when the cameras are rolling and it's freezing cold in -7 degrees, or another ad when she farts in a bath of milk that's curdling in 33 degrees of heat, and another where she ends up bouncing off the walls from so much sugar from the chocolate eaten during all the takes!
We hear how she uncovered her love of poetry from her mother and grandmother, and how and how she found herself supporting the "#MeToo" campaign by reciting poetry in a strip club with other millennials.
Kits talks about Awakening, her first play, where a woman wakes up in her front garden with no memory of getting there and how she performed it as a one woman show at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival. She also shares how her short film, Aeroplanes was inspired by bonding with a lost, 2 year old, shoeless child on the streets of London.
We talk about the creative process including the pressures associated with writing and creating new work including loneliness, grief and struggles with solitude and the importance of being honest, real and genuine to yourself and others.
Kit was a wonderful, entertaining, open guest and I loved talking to her.
