Linda is a recovering alcoholic and in this episode, she talks about how when she gave up drinking her addiction turned to shopping.
3 years into her sobriety she realized that her spending addiction was out of control.
The feelings she used to numb with alcohol were now being numbed out with spending money. This is called addiction transference.
