From Pride to Prejudice: Discussing Hate and Discrimination in Perth
Description
We've received some "fan mail" (well, anonymous messages really) after our last episode, where we discussed social transitioning. Shoutout to our mystery listener! We appreciate you sharing your journey and speaking out so bravely. Your voice matters
In this episode, Katie will be reacting to some truly heart-wrenching homophobic comments we stumbled upon on a local brand's social media post. These comments were downright disgusting, and we'll be sharing a few examples (with warning!) to shed light on the ongoing challenges faced by our LGBTQ+ community. Stay tuned for Katie's responses!
We also want to take a moment to remind you about the upcoming Pride events in Perth. Despite the hate and negativity some may express, Pride is a celebration of love, acceptance, and the fight against discrimination. We are proud to promote these events and stand with the LGBTQ+ community.
In addition to our podcast, we have some exciting events on the horizon. On the 17th of November, we'll be joining Fair Day, a vibrant Pride market event with amazing food, products, art exhibitions, and entertainment. Make sure to mark your calendars.
