This afternoon, I sat down with Hope Medina from the Colorado Building Code Commission to talk about the Building Futures Youth Initiative Program for area high school students. The program loops in area businesses and teaches the kids the hands-on approach to their specific trades and skills. Of course, they learned all about building a #tinyhouse from The Tiny House Experts who were on site today. Over 600 Kids came to play with power tools, tour tiny homes under construction, and even build some utility sheds that were auctioned off for the schools that attended and need funding for their CTE programs. (Career Technical Education)
I want to extend a huge thanks to Hope, Dan and an IMPRESSIVE army of volunteers who made this possible for the second year in a row! The high school students of Colorado deserve this, and we are so proud to be a part of BUILDING THE FUTURE with these kids!
