GOSPEL101: What is The Gospel and Why do we Need It?
Description
The Gospel is the Good News that Christ has come to set us free from the law of sin and death.
"And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him (Jesus). He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,
'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.'" Luke 4:17-18 ESV
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake, he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Matthew 28:17-21 NASB
