Description

On June 28th, we learned of the passing of a true legendary player, Dave Parker. Parker was elected to the Baseball Hall Of Fame in January and was less than thirty days away from receiving his plaque in Cooperstown New York. He was one of the most feared hitters in baseball during the later part of the 1970's and through out the 1980's. Parker was the ultimate five-tool player that displayed power, speed, fielding, able to hit for average, and leadership. After beating the Baltimore Orioles in seven games in 1979, Parker made the World Series two more times in Oakland with the Athletics in 1988 and winning his second ring in 1989, in the famous "Earthquake World Series" beating their Bay rivals the San Francisco Giants. The GURU TALKIN SPORTS podcast send our deepest condolences out to his family. He was my favorite players of all time. Rest in power, Cobra. We will be back next week with Episode 275. We will always pay tribute to legendary people that leaves us. At the end of every episode, we will say good night #39, as a closing. Enjoy the rest of your Sports Weekend.
