Description

Rick Singer’s “Side Door” has another, more expensive option that clients like actor, Lori Loughlin opt for. The scam? $500,000 to get your kids accepted to college as Division 1 athletes - even if they never actually played the sport. Race and status are explored, as this scandal forces all of us to confront uncomfortable subjects.

wtf does race have to do with this? it's about rich white assholes and the dumbass kids. the root of this problem is the schools or the greedy fucks running it, without them this never happens, but because of them this has always gone on and always will. as for the parents I'd love to spit in their fucking face.

The racial accusations were gratuitous and illogical. There was nothing racial about the scam; it was entirely about money. Rich black people could've (and might have) participated in the scam, and poor white people couldn't. There's no reason to inject accusations of racism or to pull the absurd, bone-headed maneuver of using race as a proxy for SES (as if we lack direct measures of SES). That crap is dangerous, irrational, and tiresome.

the guy crapping on about "white" privilege was so boring. his whinging was yawn fest showing that he's just playing the victim card (even though no black people were involved) lol 🙄👎

This isn't about white privilege. White privilege is a real thing yes but just because economic privilege is at play that doesn't mean you can slide in other privilege cards to raise awareness or fight a fight. That in itself is ignorant.

the main and only point as far as I am concerned is the fact that true opportunities were STOLEN from people. And it really made me think how little they thought of the sports that they used. I dont think they would have tried that with football or basketball or even soccer

Stopped listening after the race card.. I'm a poor white guy with a poor family. I'm just as disgusted as anyone about the abuse of power. However it's not race power its money power. They say no one thinks an African American can be smart enough to be on campus.... How about Neil degrasse Tyson, hes considered to be one of the smartest people on earth. so tired of hearing a interesting and good story turned into someone who wants to push an agenda.

You know what's insidious? It's these people on here playing the race card. This is about class not race. There are plenty of poor white people that could not afford to throw down money like these rich people did for their kids and as a white (gasp) person who grew up as a poor child, I take offense to this. We were so poor we couldn't even afford to purchase a basketball or a football... we were even homeless for a large stretch of time due to my father's disability.... so this is so offensive. Maybe I should play the race card since plenty of black children play basketball and football but then I would be called a racist! This scandal is not about white privilege. This is about class which has nothing to do with race. Go get a real life education and stop believing what the media tells you and stop believing in your tiny little life that you grew up in where you didn't reach out and try to experience what other people are going through of other races and classes because you obvious
