Gene Kelly - Busting That Comedy Cherry
One of my oldest Navy buddies, retired Chief Petty Officer Gene Kelly, plunged head-first into his first-ever foray into standup comedy. In this episode, he talked about how he got himself booked opening a standup comedy showcase…then realizing what in the hell he signed up for!
Gene also talked about growing up in Cleveland on East 112th Street (now known as Steve Harvey Way), comedic influences, and joining the Navy after spending years in foster care. Oh, and that run-in we had (literally) with a Hall of Fame boxing legend!
