Giants Sign Tyler Mahle on One-Year Deal
Update: 2026-01-01
Description
The San Francisco Giants have signed veteran right-handed starter Tyler Mahle to a one-year deal, adding a seasoned arm to their rotation. Mahle, 31, spent his first six seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, posting a 4.25 ERA in 593.2 innings. He was traded to the Minnesota Twins in 2022 but struggled with injuries, making only four starts before shoulder inflammation sidelined him. In 2023, arm issues limited him to three starts, leading to his free agency. Despite his injury history, Mahle shone with the Texas Rangers last season, posting a 2.2 WAR, 2.18 ERA, 66 Ks, and 29 BBs in 86.2 innings. The Giants one-year deal is a low-risk, high-reward move, while the Twins, due to budget constraints and injury concerns, opted not to pursue him. Checkout Solipillow.com
