On Friday night, Stuttgart earned a second victory of the season as they ended St. Pauli's 3-match unbeaten start. On Saturday, Harry Kane notched a hattrick as an unfortunate TSG Hoffenheim were beaten 4-1 in a scoreline that flattered the visitors. Mainz also recorded a 4-1 win on the road as they battered FC Augsburg despite going down to 10 men. Freiburg completed a good day for visiting teams as they thrashed Werder Bremen 3-0 at the Weserstadion. SC Freiburg have now won back-to-back games for the first time this campaign. On Sunday, 1. FC Union Berlin stole the show with a highly impressive 4-3 victory at Frankfurt. Oliver Burke became the first Scottish player to score a hattrick in the Bundesliga as Union won away from home for the first time this season. Leverkusen dropped points than to a last-gasp Gladbach leveller at the BayArena, and BVB finished the weekeend with a hard-fought 1-0 win over previously unbeaten VfL Wolfsburg.
