USFCA Alum Gonzalo (Sal) Torres, Esq. (He/Him/el), Senior Legal Director at Equinix, has an award-winning track record of successfully combining in-house Legal Affairs leadership and private practice experience. Sal manages a team of 28 lawyers and para-professionals and handles complex commercial agreements and software licensing agreements as well as manages outside counsel, develops and implements corporate and compliance programs. He applies the same rigor and passion when meeting with future lawyers and students, he has years of expertise and wisdom to bestow on the next generation of lawyers. Sal has turned around many legal teams from ones with low morale and productivity to ones that personify high energy and creativity. Sal trains and advises commercial sales, HR, IT/MIS, Finance, and senior management teams on various legal and corporate matters such as data privacy and data security matters with interactive and humorous seminars or workshops and still manages to make time for workshops at USF where he's a proud alum and the 2021 recipient of the Donald L. Carano '59 Alum of the Year Award. Sal possesses an excellent understanding of the relationship between the corporate legal department and furthering business and commercial interests with the uncanny ability to successfully position any client for profitable expansion.
