On Friday, November 7, 2025, the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team defeated the Kansas Jayhawks 87-74 in a matchup between two ranked teams, No. 25 UNC and No. 19 Kansas. The Jayhawks led 37-29 at halftime, but UNC erupted in the second half. Freshman Caleb Wilson led the Tar Heels with 24 points, Henri Veesaar added 20 and senior Seth Trimble contributed 17 points, 13 of which came after halftime. The win snapped UNC’s five-game losing streak against Kansas and marked their first victory over the Jayhawks since 2002. Seth Trimble, senior guard for the North Carolina Tar Heels, suffered a broken bone in his left forearm during a team workout on Sunday. He is scheduled to undergo surgery this week, and a return-to-play timeline has not yet been determined beyond the school saying he will come back “at some point this season. Reese thinks UNC will be just fine with Trimble injured. Reese doesn’t think UNC will miss Trimble all that much. Is he right?
