Update: 2022-01-30
Description
Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel (1849-1927), better known as the Alter of Slabodka, had a great impact on the development of the yeshiva world both in his own day and beyond. Incorporating the ideals of the mussar movement into the yeshiva curriculum, he furthered the growth of both mussar and yeshivos by sending his students to existing yeshivos and by opening new ones. His philosophy of 'gadlus ha'adam - greatness of man', became the byword of his yeshiva in Slabodka, and eventually to the Land of Israel when he transferred the yeshiva to Chevron.
