Promise Phelon, Chief Growth Officer of the Growth Warrior Company interviews Fred Latasa. Fred is the current owner, operator and founder of Strangers & Saints - Provincetown, an 80-seat Mediterranean-inspired restaurant on Cape Cod.

Fred is a classically trained chef and senior marketing executive who spent over 10 years as Senior Vice-president of Marketing at WebMD (NASDAQ: WBMD) a publicly-traded company valued in the billions which was responsible for revolutionizing the online health and wellness space. IN 20016, WEBMD was generated $705M in annual revenues, and was eventually bought by KKR for $2.8B. Fred was responsible for all areas of marketing strategy, advertising, product marketing, and marketing operations.

In 2014, decided to move from the healthcare content information services to living his dream of creating a restaurant. Fred and his team started Strangers & Saints about three years ago and have quickly exceeded $1M in revenues in a business that operates seven months out of the year. We’re excited for you to be part of this conversation where Fred outlines his leadership vision and goes deep on the power of transparency as a tool for growth.

Learn about Fred and his team’s journey from the vision, business planning, points of differentiation, and customer journey mapping. He also goes deep into how they achieved $1M in revenue in fewer than three years, and explores his fascinating perspectives on transparency as a tool for motivating managers and teams while keeping the restaurant lively, the kitchen creative and the customer continually inspired by the experience.

Three Takeaways:

  1. Training, trust and transparency with your team.
  2. Staying true to a plan; hold yourself accountable.
  3. Trust your instincts

LOVE this podcast. This incredible podcast was recorded on November 13, 2018 in a Fred’s living cozy (and well-designed) room on a chilly Fall afternoon in Provincetown, Massachusetts. (Promise had lost her voice, but we still hope you enjoy the content.)
