Psalm 91 is the only psalm with a precondition of abiding in him for complete protection and covering.
For those that are in Christ, this Psalm describes the fact that you should not be afraid of the terror by night nor arrow that flies by day nor the pestilence that walks in the darkness nor the destruction that leaves waste at noonday.
This is God‘s promise to us that as believers in him and the power of the cross that we are not to fear any earthly thing. And while our physical bodies can suffer here, our spiritual salvation is guaranteed for those that believe and call him Lord.
Romans 8: 38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
