Today the story comes from Hong Kong.

In a place called Hong Kong, a big fire started in a tall building. The fire was very strong and it burned down many homes, which are called flats. The people who lived there, called residents, were very, very sad. They couldn't believe their homes were gone. Brave firefighters came quickly to help put out the fire. Now, many kind people are helping the residents find new places to stay. It's a sad time, but people are working together to help.

They couldn't believe their homes were gone. 他們不敢相信自己的家就這樣不見了。

Brave firefighters came quickly to help put out the fire. 勇敢的消防員們很快就趕來幫忙滅火。

Now, many kind people are helping the residents find new places to stay. 現在，很多善良的人們正在幫助這些居民找到新的地方住。

It's a sad time, but people are working together to help. 雖然這是一個令人難過的時刻，但大家正一起努力互相幫助。

Let's learn some new words! Vocabulary Time! 我們來學些新單字吧！單字時間！

Our first word is fire, F-I-R-E. Fire means 火. A fire can be dangerous, so we must always be careful. Let's make a sentence: The campers sat around the fire to stay warm. 露營的人們圍坐在火堆旁取暖。

Next up is residents, R-E-S-I-D-E-N-T-S. Residents are the people who live in a particular place. It means 居民. A synonym for residents is 'inhabitants', and the opposite could be 'visitors'. Let's make a sentence: The residents of the building were all safe. 這棟大樓的居民們都平安無事。

Our third word is brave, B-R-A-V-E. Brave means 勇敢的. A synonym is 'courageous', and the opposite is 'afraid'. Let's make a sentence: The brave firefighter saved the little cat from the tree. 那位勇敢的消防員從樹上救下了小貓。

Our last word today is together, T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R. Together means 一起. A synonym is 'jointly', and the opposite is 'alone'. When we do things together, we can be much stronger! Now, let's make a sentence: The family worked together to build a sandcastle. 這家人一起合作蓋了一座沙堡。

Even in sad times, we can be strong when we help each other. 即使在難過的時候，當我們互相幫助，我們就能變得很堅強。

It's important to be kind and support our community. 善良並支持我們的社區是非常重要的。
