Vayuputra (Son of the Wind God): Hanuman is traditionally considered the son of Vayu, the Hindu god of the wind, which grants him immense strength, speed, and the power of flight. His mother is Anjana, an Apsara (celestial nymph) who was reborn as a female vanara (a monkey-like humanoid).
