Pressurized containers of compressed gas cause around 5,000 injuries per year, requiring time away from work and kill about a dozen people each year (according to OSHA labor statistics). Some hazards associated with compressed gases include oxygen displacement, fires, explosions, and toxic gas exposures, as well as the physical hazards associated with high pressure systems.
