This is our podcast episode / movie review on Hatching (2022) 

An interesting and quite original concept that tackles modern day issues around influencer lifestyle, and how parenting mistakes can hatch a monster. We were definitely GROSSED out, but at the same time were engrossed and intrigued about where the story was going. The movie was already on the short side, but we felt like it could have easily been cut down to 30-ish minutes and still had the same effect.

Tinja is a 12-year-old gymnast who's desperate to please her image-obsessed mother. After finding a wounded bird in the woods, she brings its strange egg home, nestles it in her bed and nurtures it until it hatches. The creature that emerges soon becomes her closest friend and a living nightmare, plunging Tinja into a twisted reality that her mom refuses to see.
