Current headlines and hot topics.
00:02:46
Our guest today covers Dancing with the Stars for People magazine, so it's only fitting for her to be on the show.
00:02:53
Especially on Premiere Week.
00:02:55
Dory Jackson is a staff editor for People's TV news team upon joining the brand in March of 2021.

00:03:10
She has also helped recap not only DWS, but popular TV shows like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Sister Wives, and Vanderpump Rules.
00:03:21
Please welcome Dory Jackson to the show.
00:03:24
Thank you for having me.
00:03:26
I'm so excited.
00:03:27
Yeah, have you heard the podcast at all?
00:03:29
I'm sure you've heard your co-workers talk about it, maybe?
00:03:32
Yes, they've fragged about you and the experience, and yes.
00:03:37
Awesome.
00:03:38
What did you think of the premiere of season 33?
00:03:40
I actually enjoyed it so much more than I was expecting, because you just didn't know how it's going to go, but I like that they were able to pick an anthem,
00:03:51
a song that represents who they are to kick things off, because it allowed us to just understand the star better.
00:03:57
And of course, we know the show is a popularity contest at the end of the day.
00:04:01
Sometimes the best dancers don't win, but I think it's just important that we're able to relate to them, and this allows us another way to do so.
00:04:08
I mean, you and a bunch of other people, because dancing with the stars, this is the headline, "Kicks Off With Solid Season 33, premiere viewership for ABC," which is huge for them.
00:04:18
If debuted last night or two nights ago, technically, was it two nights?
00:04:23
No, anyway, Tuesday night, the episode debuted last or that night at 4.97 million viewers.
00:04:30
So that's great.
00:04:31
And I guess their demo is up as well, the 18-49, which is like the target demo.
00:04:37
It grew 14% year over year to a 0.73 rating.
00:04:42
So this is great news for dancing with the stars.
00:04:45
It's so interesting to see these numbers, because I know TV's changed a lot.
00:04:50
But season one, it was like 6 million, and then it was like season two and three were like 20-something million.
00:04:56
But nowadays, this is pretty amazing, considering that they also stream now.
00:05:01
There's so much competition out there, so I'm just happy the show's doing well.
00:05:05
Thank you.
00:05:06
And it also just shows people still care.
00:05:08
The fact that they're tuning in live is a huge deal, 'cause people won't do that anymore, especially now that you can just walk right.
00:05:13
I can't say.
00:05:14
So, that would assume, like, I'm West Coast.
00:05:17
Are you West Coast?
00:05:19
No, I'm East Coast, New York, yeah.
00:05:21
They have to change up this thing here when it comes to voting, 'cause technically, we can't vote, unless we're voting based off of popularity, and who we like instead of the dancing.
00:05:32
There's gotta be something.
00:05:33
And this has been an issue, an ongoing issue.
00:05:35
I've heard from fans as well, that by the time we can watch the show, voting's closed, so they need to leave voting.
00:05:42
Like, why can they just leave it on for another two hours?
00:05:45
I don't know.
00:05:45
They gotta fix that, they gotta fix that.
00:05:47
They really do, 'cause like, what's the point, then, of us watching, right?
00:05:50
We can't.
00:05:51
Just for fun.
00:05:52
Engage.
00:05:52
Yes.
00:05:53
Okay, well, let's just get into it.
00:05:56
What did you think of Gleb and Brooks?
00:05:57
Oh my goodness.
00:05:59
Well, you could tell there was some flirty energy there, even though they're denying it.
00:06:04
I don't know.
00:06:04
Big time.
00:06:05
Maybe I'm reading into something.
00:06:07
Maybe they're just playing it for the camera.
00:06:08
I don't think you're reading into anything.
00:06:10
You would know, 'cause you've seen it happen time and time again.
00:06:12
Why haven't seen them in the act of other than the TMZ stuff, right?
00:06:17
But like, yeah.
00:06:18
Look, I just know this.
00:06:19
Everyone right now, I think heading into maybe week four, week five, we'll see what really is happening, because if they're still around, this is just a honeymoon phase at the moment.
00:06:29
You know, people are just super excited.
00:06:31
It also depends, you know, on your score.
00:06:34
If you scored high, you're all in that honeymoon phase at the moment.
00:06:37
And in about three, four weeks, you start to uncover the real person behind it all.
00:06:43
And sometimes it's great.
00:06:45
Sometimes it's not great.
00:06:47
So I think Gleb is going to snap out of it slowly but surely here, because he's going to have to get down to business, because they're not necessarily, oh, an easy safe.
00:06:57
You know, they're eliminating two couples next week.
00:07:00
So I think they did good too, especially for a first time out.
00:07:04
I can tell she was nervous, but she looks stunning.
00:07:07
I feel like she's hitting her mark for the most part.
00:07:08
But obviously to Gleb, he has not won the Nuremberg Ball trophy yet.
00:07:12
So this is a big deal.
00:07:13
- Oh, you're right.
00:07:14
- I think it's Brandon's, unfortunately.
00:07:19
I mean, and fortunately, I'm actually super proud of Brandon, because I, you know, all these little newbie pros, I mean, I guess anybody would be a newbie to me, because I've been there since the,
00:07:29
you know, Renaissance ages.
00:07:31
But like, it's crazy how, you know, everyone learns, right, from your experience.
00:07:36
I think the longer you've been on in a way as a pro dancer, the better off you are, because you understand the ins and outs.
00:07:41
You understand, like, certain camera shots and what works.
00:07:44
And then you also understand ballroom, right, like it.
00:07:47
And I think Brandon has definitely matured throughout his years.
00:07:51
And I would say if he continues on the trajectory that he's on currently, I think it'll be an easy win for him in Chandler.
00:07:57
What did you think of them?
00:07:58
- No, that is my favorite couple.
00:08:00
They are definitely the couple to be.
00:08:02
I mean, I know people complain about people with dance backgrounds coming in, but she might not win.
00:08:07
- Yeah, because of that.
00:08:08
But, yeah, but she isn't danced in 10 years, and also ballroom dances so different.
00:08:13
- Yeah, old as she.
00:08:14
- I think she's, I don't know.
00:08:16
- She's really tall with 11, yeah.
00:08:18
- Maybe, I don't know.
00:08:20
- Yeah, no, I think she did that.
00:08:21
She did this, like, add when she was younger.
00:08:23
They showed and then she focused on acting.
00:08:26
So I think that's kind of what took precedence.
00:08:27
- Going back to this, uh, lab headline, though, he has confirmed that he's not interested in his partner Brooks.
00:08:35
- Yes.
00:08:36
- I don't know.
00:08:37
Maybe he's not interested in proposing to her, but, like, come on, there's attraction there, right?
00:08:41
Like, you can't deny that.
00:08:43
- Yeah, I mean, I have a rule, though.
00:08:45
Like, no hinky-panky until after the elimination process.
00:08:49
Because you're really, like, he's her coach, and you have to, like, set the boundaries.
00:08:55
Or else, I'm telling you, the respect goes really fast out that window.
00:08:59
You know, if you don't set your boundary.
00:09:01
So, hopefully, he can, you know, have some self-control.
00:09:05
- That's true.
00:09:06
That's true.
00:09:07
- I think, like I said, he has to focus on the mirror ball trophy.
00:09:11
If not this time, then I guess next time.
00:09:14
- Were you there at the show or you didn't see it live?
00:09:16
- No, I don't see it in person.
00:09:18
I saw it from the comfort of my home.
00:09:20
- What did you think of Anna Delvey?
00:09:22
- I actually think that she was decent.
00:09:25
Better than I expected.
00:09:26
- Like, as a dancer.
00:09:27
- Yeah.
00:09:28
- Yeah, I think she was pretty good.
00:09:30
- She had boys, she had, you know, sass.
00:09:33
And I like that.
00:09:34
I know the fans didn't really love it.
00:09:37
Is what I'm hearing.
00:09:38
- I don't love her, like, as a person.
00:09:40
I think this is why Karen said what she said, right?
00:09:44
Like, the energy shifted.
00:09:46
Now, if I were the showrunner, I wouldn't necessarily have put her last.
00:09:49
I think that you're really taking a gamble until you see the reaction.
00:09:53
Like, I would have put her second to last.
00:09:55
I know I would have ended with Stephen and Riley, right?
00:09:58
Because obviously, they've just like, everyone loved him.
00:10:01
But to end on such an awkward note was a shame.
00:10:07
What do you think of what would be Goldberg said about Anna Delvey's casting?
00:10:12
- I understand it.
00:10:14
I understand where it's coming from.
00:10:15
Because she is a contralor steel figure.
00:10:19
She did something that is not great.
00:10:22
And that's taking no accountability over it.
00:10:26
- She's being spotlighted.
00:10:28
She's going to all the big events again.
00:10:29
And now she's on the dance with the stars.
00:10:31
- Great, she's going to the event.
00:10:33
- She's doing like red carpets and stuff.
00:10:35
You know what?
00:10:37
She hosted a party at her house and had all these people there.
00:10:40
It was a while ago.
00:10:41
Because I remember all these influencers were there.
00:10:43
That's what it was.
00:10:44
- When?
00:10:44
- She said, I mean, she's under house arrest, right?
00:10:47
- Yeah, this is a while ago.
00:10:49
I just remember, like, one of the bachelor people were there.
00:10:51
- Oh, okay.
00:10:52
- Yeah.
00:10:52
We'll have to look into that more.
00:10:53
But I just remember kicking and was there from the bachelor.
00:10:56
And I was like, oh, that's interesting.
00:10:57
How did they know each other?
00:10:58
- Who do you think is going to be the first two couples eliminated?
00:11:02
- That's a tough one.
00:11:04
- I think Anna Delvey's going to go.
00:11:07
- I could see her going.
00:11:08
- You don't think people are voting for her?
00:11:11
- I don't.
00:11:12
Like, I think it's hard to wrap up.
00:11:15
- No, I hear you.
00:11:16
I mean, from what I heard, like, I felt attention from behind my laptop.
00:11:20
And, like, I don't think people would be voting for her either.
00:11:22
But that's what I thought about a lot of controversial characters.
00:11:25
- Yeah.
00:11:26
And, you know, Eric Roberts.
00:11:27
I love him.
00:11:28
He's an icon in, you know, in the entertainment industry.
00:11:31
But he was not great.
00:11:33
And I don't know how much she's going to be able to improve.
00:11:35
- Yeah.
00:11:35
But we have to think about also the demographic.
00:11:38
Like, who is voting for Eric versus, you know, it is a double.
00:11:43
I don't know.
00:11:44
I think Brooks could be in danger and glad.
00:11:47
- Interesting.
00:11:48
- Just think about the record, like, the track record for models.
00:11:51
They don't do great other than Joanna Krupa, who danced with Derek Huff, like, season four or five.
00:11:56
She was, like, fourth or something.
00:11:58
But normally, models are always the first ones to go, or second ones to go, unfortunately.
00:12:04
Unless they have this captivating story.
00:12:07
See, for me, it's not so much a dance competition the first few weeks, then it is a vulnerability contest who can really show their and where their heart on their sleeve in the seconds that they have to get to know this person when you do that interview with Julianne in the sky box.
00:12:22
Like, I'm telling you, and what the way that Anna delivered her answers, it wasn't necessarily anything that I'd want to get behind.
00:12:30
- Right, because I think about who was it, Tanya Harding when she was going through it.
00:12:35
Like, she was giving her heart.
00:12:37
We were getting to know.
00:12:38
- Oh, yeah, she can see that she was.
00:12:39
Yeah, nervous.
00:12:41
She had feelings.
00:12:41
- Right.
00:12:42
Whereas, again, it's like anger.
00:12:44
- I think she does.
00:12:46
And I think it's interesting, because I was doing a full press day yesterday for to promote the podcast.
00:12:51
And I think it was us weekly that said to me, what we talked to her after.
00:12:55
And she said, the same thing she said up there when she's like, I'm just happy it's over.
00:12:59
But then she continued saying, because I felt like I did so bad.
00:13:03
If she would have just said this live on TV, then you're like, oh, so she wants to be here, but she's like, the negative self-talk is getting there.
00:13:14
Then I can have compassion for her.
00:13:16
- Right.
00:13:17
That makes sense to me, yeah.
00:13:19
I wish you'd just need to say three more words.
00:13:21
- Three more words.
00:13:23
- Like, I think it happens.
00:13:26
- Yeah, I don't know.
00:13:27
It'll be interesting.
00:13:28
I'll be shocked if she does make it through.
00:13:30
Put it that way.
00:13:31
- Yeah.
00:13:32
I agree with that.
00:13:32
- I'm Jess Kossaveto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series, "Dancing for the Devil," the 7M TikTok Cult.
00:13:41
- And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shikana Church.
00:13:45
And we're the host of the new podcast.
00:13:47
Forgive me for I have followed.
00:13:49
Together, we'll be diving even deeper into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films and LA-based Shikana Church, an alleged cult that has impacted members for over two decades.
00:13:59
Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths between high-control groups and interview dancers, church members, and others whose lives and careers have been impacted, just like mine.
00:14:08
Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling first-hand accounts, the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives.
00:14:18
Forgive me for I have followed will be more than an exploration.
00:14:21
It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again.
00:14:27
Listen to, forgive me for I have followed on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:14:32

00:14:48
- That's right.
00:14:49
- The queen of comedy herself.
00:14:51
- Get ready for a conversation that says hilarious as it is insightful.
00:14:54
- Tune in for all the laughs, the stories, and of course, the culture.
00:14:57
- I feel some central burnhard in you.
00:15:01
- Oh my god, I would love it.
00:15:04
I have to watch loss.
00:15:07
- Y'all you have to.
00:15:08
- No, I know I'm so behind.
00:15:10
- Catherine Hahn can say.
00:15:12
- Oh, I'm really good at karaoke.
00:15:14
- And what's your song?
00:15:15
- Yeah, what's your song?
00:15:16
- Oh, I love a ballad.
00:15:17
I felt Bjork's music.
00:15:21
I just was like, who is this person?
00:15:24
I got to hawk this slalom movie.
00:15:29
- I'm not hawk this slalom.
00:15:31
I absolutely love it.
00:15:32
It was somehow Shakespearean when you said it.
00:15:34

00:16:22
- The only difference between a person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is usually who applies.
00:16:27
- Yeah, I think a lot about that quote.
00:16:29
What is it like you miss 100% of the shots you never take?
00:16:32
- Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself.

- I've been thinking about you.
00:16:53
I want you back in my life.
00:16:55
It's too late for that.
00:16:57
I have a proposal for you.
00:16:59
Come up here and document my project.
00:17:01
All you need to do is record everything like you always do.
00:17:04
One session, 24 hours.
00:17:07
- BPM 110, 120, she's terrified.
00:17:13
- Should we wake her up?
00:17:14
- Absolutely not.
00:17:14
- What was that?
00:17:18
- You didn't figure it out.
00:17:19
- I think I need to hear you say it.
00:17:21
- That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
00:17:24
- This machine is approved and everything.
00:17:26
You're allowed to be doing this.

- Hello, everyone.
00:17:52
I am Lacey Lamar.
00:17:54
- And I'm Amber Reffen, a better Lacey Lamar.
00:17:57
Okay, everybody, we have exciting news to share.
00:18:00
We're back with season two of the Amber and Lacey Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network.
00:18:06
- You thought you had fun last season?
00:18:08
Well, you were right.
00:18:10
And you should tune in today for new fun segments like Sister Court and listening to Lacey's steamy DMs.
00:18:15
- We've got new and exciting guests like Michael Beach.
00:18:18
- That's my husband.
00:18:19
- Daphne Spring, Daniel Thrasher, Peppermint, Morgan J, and more.
00:18:25
- You got to watch us.
00:18:26
- No, you mean you have to listen to us?
00:18:29
- I mean, you can still watch us, but you gotta listen.
00:18:31
Like, if you're watching us, you have to tell us.
00:18:33
Like, if you're out the window, you have to say, "Hey, I'm watching outside of the window."
00:18:37
- Just, just, you know what?
00:18:38
Listen to the Amber and Lacey Lacey and Amber show on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:18:46
- So basically, the New York Times just did an article on Anna Delvie about how,
00:18:58
like, the ankle monitor or the house arrest monitor, whatever, is not gonna just get her through to the next round.
00:19:04
And it was interesting, 'cause they actually had a professional, not a ballroom dancer, and not anyone I know in particular, or that's been on the show, but they interviewed a pro dancer who said,
00:19:15
"Okay, the question was, like, how can she come out of her shell?"
00:19:18
Like, 'cause dance is about expression, right?
00:19:21
Like, and as far as I'm concerned, she had the same expression on her face from the dance all the way until she was done with the interview with Julianne.
00:19:30
And I, and with insecurity.
00:19:32
Obviously, they're all nervous.
00:19:34
I understand that.
00:19:35
Super insecure, like, dancing with the stars brings out your shadows, and that is, for sure.
00:19:40
What can she do?
00:19:42
And this reminded me of Rob Kardashian when I danced with him, because he just felt so stupid.
00:19:47
Like, he just felt so dumb that he didn't even show up to the first part of the training.
00:19:52
Like, he kept making excuses, and I'm like, are you even thinking, like, you need to get your ass in here now?
00:19:57
And until I figured out, like, he, and I had a heart-to-heart off camera, and we were just talking about how, like, this is so stupid.
00:20:05
I can't believe I'm doing this dance show.
00:20:06
Like, my mom wants me to do it, and all of this, right?
00:20:09
And I was like, just make fun of us.
00:20:11
Like, go out there, make, pretend you're Sasha.
00:20:13
What would Sasha do?
00:20:14
And he did.
00:20:15
And that's when he went from, like, people booing at him the very first week.
00:20:20
I'll never forget walking out onto the floor.
00:20:22
People were booing him to making the final.
00:20:26
We were third, you know?
00:20:27
And it was because of that.
00:20:28
And this is what this pro dancer is saying that Anna needs to do.
00:20:31
It's either, like, make fun of us, or really, you know, pretend you're a character.
00:20:37
Like, do some method acting, basically.
00:20:39
I mean, can I get back to help if she has another chance?
00:20:43
Yeah.
00:20:44
Well, I mean, like I said, we'll find out very quickly.
00:20:47
I mean, I saw, like, Ezra's interview with somebody, and he was like, yeah, I can't even get her to smile.
00:20:52
But because it needs to mean more than, like, when someone tells me to smile, I want to, like, slap them.
00:20:56
So, like, literally, yeah.
00:20:58
You just, you have to, like, this is what I mean.
00:21:00
And I know it's a headline today about me saying, I wish she was paired with Val.
00:21:03
But this is what I mean.
00:21:04
Why?
00:21:05
I think she needs to be paired with someone who, not because Ezra is not capable.
00:21:09
Like, he's more than capable.
00:21:10
And it's about damn time they had him as a pro.
00:21:13
However, when it comes to psychology behind the show and what they need to do to be camera-friendly so that people vote for you, this is when she needed more of an experienced pro.
00:21:25
Yeah.
00:21:26
Somebody that guide her a bit more nurture, for sure.
00:21:29
Because they know how to play the game.
00:21:30
They've done it.
00:21:31
Like, like, seriously, we're better than any publicist that you're going to hire.
00:21:35
Because, like, we do know what we're doing.
00:21:37
You know, it's so interesting.
00:21:39
Like, when you watch the show, does body language affect you at all?
00:21:42
Yeah, I especially as a journalist, I can see happening, like, if somebody's off, you can kind of tell, right?
00:21:51
I used to dance, too, actually.
00:21:53
So you did.
00:21:55
What type of dancing?
00:21:56
I did ballet, tap, jazz.
00:21:59
I kind of did it all.
00:22:01
So what advice do you have for Anna?
00:22:02
Yeah, I definitely want her to loosen up and have fun with it and just let her guard down.
00:22:08
Because we're kind of seeing more of this, like, I see side.
00:22:11
And we don't want to see that.
00:22:14
We want to see people be relatable.
00:22:16
And that's why people win.
00:22:17
Because they're relatable.
00:22:19
Right.
00:22:19
And so I guess my question then to you.
00:22:21
The second part of that question is, how does one get out of their head when all of this is being, like, their whole lives are being put on blast and people and all she wants is to be given another chance.
00:22:31
Yet, no one is giving her another chance.
00:22:33
That's a good question.
00:22:35
I feel like she just has to try.
00:22:37
I know that's, like, not even great advice, but it's, she's in her head.
00:22:43
And I think the only way forward is trying a little bit here and there to just show that more of herself.
00:22:48
And I also think it's cultural.
00:22:51
I don't know.
00:22:51
That's true, too.
00:22:52
100%.
00:22:53
Like, I'd honestly don't, I think that she may think that she's being nice.
00:22:58
But I just like, but yeah, and that's the thing.
00:23:01
Like, she feels like she's on the defense.
00:23:03
Like, she has to defend.
00:23:04
And I get it.
00:23:05
But like, there's going to have to let your gloves down and just get to work.
00:23:08
Because exactly.
00:23:10
It ain't working.
00:23:10
What do you, so what did you think of what Carrie Ann said?
00:23:12
Was it appropriate or not?
00:23:14
Oh, about Anna in terms of like, yeah, I think it is because at the end of the day, yeah, this is the space that she's coming into.
00:23:25
We should just treat people with kindness.
00:23:27
Do you think she should have, like, talked more about the critique?
00:23:30
Because she got cut off, Carrie Ann.
00:23:31
Yeah.
00:23:33
Yeah, that's, I think there is so much missing.
00:23:38
But it's kind of like, it's over.
00:23:41
So we have to move forward from there.
00:23:43
And I don't know what that looks like yet.
00:23:45
We won't know until next week.
00:23:46
Yeah, interesting.
00:23:48
Did you agree?
00:23:49
I did not.
00:23:50
Don't shame me.
00:23:51
That's okay.
00:23:51
That's right.
00:23:52
I forgot.
00:23:53
No, I never vote.
00:23:55
Actually, that's a lie.
00:23:56
I did vote for myself once in a while when I was on that show.
00:23:59
I love that.
00:24:00
Good for you.
00:24:00
Right?
00:24:02
Like someone's going to do it.
00:24:04
At least I can know I got like six votes.
00:24:06
You know, I got my six votes in.
00:24:07
Exactly.
00:24:08
What do you think of Alona Moran, Alan?
00:24:10
Oh, I love her.
00:24:12
She's not a dancer.
00:24:13
She knows that and that's okay.
00:24:15
She was nervous, but I think she still tried to have fun with it.
00:24:18
She had a good smile on.
00:24:20
She was doing her best.
00:24:21
And is she going to win this competition more likely?
00:24:24
No.
00:24:25
But I think she could still make it partway through just based off her personality and the likeability that comes across like when she got, you know, what was it straight six that she was so excited.
00:24:35
And that was so cute.
00:24:36
What did you think of her?
00:24:38
Like what pointers do you have to give for her?
00:24:41
Practice makes perfect, of course.
00:24:44
Work on that confidence.
00:24:45
And it's like, she is an athlete dancing.
00:24:47
Isn't our firm, but it's also a sport.
00:24:49
And so it is a sport.
00:24:50
It is a sport that.
00:24:51
100%.
00:24:52
Yeah, she just needs to channel that athlete in her to improve that performance.
00:24:57
There was an article recently that came out about her saying that Alan makes her look feminine or makes her feel feminine.
00:25:04
Oh, I hope that she feels feminine.
00:25:07
So I just did this review like every week.
00:25:09
I'm doing these recaps, right?
00:25:10
from what I see.
00:25:11
And I go on and on about Alona because like, look at, okay.
00:25:15
So in a way, she has to take note a note from Fadre, right?
00:25:18
Because Fadre owns it.
00:25:20
Fadre is not timid.
00:25:22
And she's also, but look, I understand it's ballroom and you're trying to make your partner happy.
00:25:27
But also that mentality should change too.
00:25:29
Because it's about what makes you happy and what makes you feel good.
00:25:33
Because if you don't feel good and you're like constantly trying to make us pros happy, that's just not, it's just going to do the reverse, right?
00:25:41
Like it's going to backfire.
00:25:43
And I think with Alona, like I said in my recap, like you're wearing a fringe like high cut beaded fringe dress with stiletto heels.
00:25:52
You look feminine.
00:25:54
Like don't worry about that.
00:25:55
And also she kind of look like she was dancing on egg shells.
00:25:58
And I was like, you got to attack.
00:25:59
Give Alan the one for his money.
00:26:01
Like go at him.
00:26:03
Like there's never, it's never too much.
00:26:05
Because by the way, us pros will rise up if we need to, you know, but we're not dominant down, especially in ballroom.
00:26:12
Everything's exaggerated from where our head is like everything, you know?
00:26:17
Yeah, and she has that in her to do it.
00:26:19
It's just finding that confidence to execute it that way.
00:26:22
And it's interesting because a lot of people would probably say, well, how is she not, I mean, she's confident.
00:26:26
No, is that what do you think?
00:26:28
As a dancer, they're like, I understand what you're saying, but how about for my listeners, maybe explain it?
00:26:33
I think well, for her, she's coming into this from a whole different space.
00:26:36
But as somebody who grew up dancing, I mean, in performing in front of audiences, if you know, you still get nervous.
00:26:42
Oh, yeah, natural it happens.
00:26:44
But I feel like what always helps me is kind of just, you know, playing that character like, oh, I'm this in this moment or that in that moment, depending on the style or what the greatest being told.
00:26:56
And that kind of helped me just dive into it and not think about the audiences watching me.
00:27:01
What are they thinking of me in this moment or whatever?
00:27:03
And I just, whenever she looked at Alan, like, she was shining.
00:27:07
But whenever she lost eye contact or any type of awareness of her partner, she was gone.
00:27:12
Exactly.
00:27:14
Yeah.
00:27:15
And I think she'll be around so she has time to work so hard.
00:27:18
Yeah.
00:27:18
And I'm excited to see what she does next.
00:27:20
Like, I like her a lot.
00:27:22

Oh, I'm really good at karaoke.
00:29:02
And what's your song?
00:29:03
Yeah, what's your song?

Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm.

00:31:37
Guess what, Mango?
00:31:40
What's that will?
00:31:41
So iHeart is giving us a whole minute to promote our podcast, part-time genius.
00:31:46
I know that's why I spent my whole week composing a high cougar of the occasion.
00:31:49
It's about my emotional journey in podcasting over the last seven years, and it's called Earthquake House.
00:31:54
Mango, I'm going to cut you off right there.
00:31:57
Why don't we just tell people about our show instead?
00:31:59
Yeah, that's a better idea.
00:32:00
So every week on part-time genius, we feed our curiosity by answering the world's most important questions.
00:32:06
Things like, when did America start dialing 911?
00:32:09
Is William Shatner's best acting work in Esperanto?
00:32:13
Also, what happened to Esperanto?
00:32:15
Plus, we cover questions like how Chinese is your Chinese food, how do dollar stores stay in business, and of course, is there an illuminati of cheese?
00:32:24
There absolutely is, and we are risking our lives by talking about it.
00:32:28
But if you love mind-blowing facts, incredible history, and really bad jokes, make your brains happy and tune into part-time genius.
00:32:35
Listen to part-time genius on the iHeart Radio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
00:32:39
She's great.
00:32:40
Speaking of Fadre, what do you think of Fadre and Val?
00:32:47
Oh, I love her.
00:32:48
She's so fabulous, and she literally is attacking everything.
00:32:53
Is it perfect every time?
00:32:54
No, but she's doing it her way, and that's what's important.
00:32:58
I do think she's the one housewife that's going to make it a little bit longer.
00:33:01
Because I feel like she just has such personality, and so you kind of just see it as she's moving throughout the dance.
00:33:09
Like, I'm just like, "Ooh, I just want to follow, and I want to watch."
00:33:12
And I'm very enamored by her.
00:33:14
Yeah, no, same.
00:33:15
Same.
00:33:16
She owns it.
00:33:17
Like, she is herself in that sense, but I think what made her have a mistake was that she was making it her own too much.
00:33:25
Like, there is still, there's still like, there's a choreography.
00:33:31
And the choreography is built like a puzzle so that we don't step on each other.
00:33:34
You know, and so that we look syncopated and so that we're on time to the music.
00:33:39
It is carefully mapped out by us pros.
00:33:41
And if you, like, when you said that, it kind of reminded me of when I was dancing with Juan Pablo, the Pache, he decided during the live show to go the other way,
00:33:51
because it felt better for him, but he didn't want to talk to me about it.
00:33:56
And I was like, "What happened?
00:33:58
What did you do?"
00:33:58
And he goes, "Well, I just thought it would be better to go."
00:34:00
I was like, "But maybe you can discuss it with me next time, because I'm telling you, it's careful to the detail, like, to the second.
00:34:08
It's mapped out.
00:34:10
You can't just make decisions without talking to me, like, vice versa.
00:34:14
I would never do that without talking to you."
00:34:16
You know?
00:34:16
Anyway, so that's what I think was happening there.
00:34:21
I think, and I think Val was just being a gentleman and taking obviously, which was nice of him.
00:34:26
What I would love Val to do is just dumb it down a little bit more.
00:34:29
Not because she can't do it, but because you want her personality, so you therefore, you're going to have to give somewhere else, meaning in the beginning, maybe not make everything so syncopated,
00:34:40
maybe really at the end of the day, you can have the easiest steps.
00:34:46
But if you really are comfortable with it and you entertain, I have to tell you, Emmett Smith, when I dance with him, super basic compared to Mario Lopez, like, beyond basic.
00:34:55
No wonder Mario was pissed when he lost, because I get it.
00:34:58
Like, there were teens who were professional, and I was like, we're doing everything four times, but it wasn't even about that.
00:35:04
It was about his, because he was comfortable.
00:35:07
Yeah, I think maybe that's what they need to do, just have that conversation to find that balance.
00:35:13
Well, then, so then be careful with the conversation, because when you say to a celebrity, we're going to just make it easier.
00:35:19
They freaking hate it.
00:35:20
Oh, I'm sure.
00:35:21
They'll fight you.
00:35:22
Yeah, they'll fight you.
00:35:23
It's an ego thing.
00:35:24
It's like, no, I want you to listen to this and that.
00:35:27
You're like, no, we have three days.
00:35:28
Like, dude, let's just do this.
00:35:29
Let's just roll with some punches.
00:35:31
Yeah, Tori and, I guess, Brian Austin Green.
00:35:36
So she was on Brian's podcast, and she revealed then and there that she was doing dancing with the stars.
00:35:43
After being asked 32 seasons, did you see that package?
00:35:46
It's crazy.
00:35:47
It's hysterical.
00:35:48
I mean, she's perfect for it, because like, she's kind of that star where people remember the name.
00:35:54
Oh, yeah.
00:35:54
She isn't necessarily like as active as she was.
00:35:58
So it's nice to see her and like have fun.
00:36:00
Like, she's having fun.
00:36:02
She knows she's not going to play the part.
00:36:03
What did you think of her, Pasha?
00:36:05
I mean, she's not going to win this competition, but I like that she was just trying to have fun.
00:36:09
And I think that's important.
00:36:10
Because yeah, this isn't the Olympics.
00:36:13
Like, it always feels like it, though, doesn't it?
00:36:16
I'm sure.
00:36:16
But we pros definitely like some of, especially the newer pros are like, I'm fighting for my life.
00:36:23
And I just hope everyone remembers what the title is.
00:36:26
It's called Dancing with the Stars, you know?
00:36:27
And it really, it's about who showcases their star.
00:36:31
The best is who wins.
00:36:32
And with Tori, I wish that she wasn't masking.
00:36:37
And I mean, I give it to everybody.
00:36:38
I'm like, giving them a pass is the week one.
00:36:41
But like, you know, when people are very nervous that they just get giddy.
00:36:44
Yes.
00:36:44
Like, I hope that that changes to where if she's nervous, just be nervous and like show us what that emotion is.
00:36:51
Because I highly doubt behind closed doors when she has anxiety that she's giddy.
00:36:55
Like, I just want to be real.
00:36:57
Like be real and authentic, you know?
00:36:59
Yeah.
00:36:59
Well, she didn't say she didn't do the show for so long because of that.
00:37:03
Well, I know we've talked about it personally.
00:37:05
Yeah, okay.
00:37:07
Yeah, it's full on.
00:37:09
The show's full on.
00:37:10
Like, you can't be going through any type of breakup.
00:37:13
Nothing if you're doing this show.
00:37:14
Because it is going to break you.
00:37:16
And how can you imagine going through a breakup?
00:37:19
Yeah, I was going through a divorce during my last season.
00:37:22
That's right.
00:37:23
But it's different for us because we've done it so many times.
00:37:26
Now, when you're like, and if you come on a show when you've never danced before and you've never done it.
00:37:30
Oh, forget about it.
00:37:32
Yes.
00:37:34
Oh, my goodness.
00:37:35
But yeah, I'm happy that she's on.
00:37:37
Yeah.
00:37:38
I think that she's getting in a shot.
00:37:39
The 90210, like cult fan base, though, is for real.
00:37:42
When I did it with Ion Zering, I don't, I mean, I honestly don't think we should have made it as far, but we did.
00:37:47
No, it's very serious.
00:37:49
I was just at 90s con this weekend.
00:37:51
And I moderated the 90s to an old panel.
00:37:53
Oh, interesting.
00:37:54
Just seeing like the fans like the room was packed for them.
00:37:58
Not all the panels are packed.
00:37:59
How often does this 90s con happen?
00:38:01
Does it happen every week?
00:38:02
It's twice a year once in Florida, which we just did in this Florida.
00:38:06
And then the other one is in like the March, like March in Connecticut.
00:38:11
Let's talk about Jen Tran, shall we?
00:38:13
Yes.
00:38:14
Go ahead.
00:38:14
You take this away.
00:38:15
Oh, my goodness.
00:38:16
Well, obviously, we know Jen was just on the Bachelor at.
00:38:20
She did a sweet and cute job doing flowers.
00:38:24
I'm my only Cyrus for the Cha Cha.
00:38:26
I'm a partner, Sasha.
00:38:27
And obviously, this comes not long after.
00:38:30
She announced that she's no longer with Devon Strader, her fiance, and he broke up with her over a 15-minute phone crawl.
00:38:39
Wait, you say-- Was it on television?
00:38:42
Or no.
00:38:43
No, they broke up over her phone first, and then she like announced it.
00:38:47
Yeah.
00:38:49
Yeah, horrible, horrible.
00:38:51
And she proposed to him.
00:38:53
Yeah, she proposed to him initially.
00:38:54
Yeah, that's a whole other conversation.
00:38:57
I was proud of her, but it's like a whole other thing.
00:38:59
Because that was definitely not the dude that-- Well, obviously, he didn't want to get married, right?
00:39:03
No, just say no.
00:39:04
But I guess it was being-- She would have more awkward.
00:39:07
He have proposed if he wanted to get married or-- Right, I don't know.
00:39:11
Maybe not.
00:39:11
She said, I can't let you do that.
00:39:13
And then she did it.
00:39:14
And then he said yes.
00:39:15
Interesting.
00:39:16
Yeah, she wanted to take control and have the cover, which I can't really understand.
00:39:21
Yeah.
00:39:22
But yeah, that was just the wrong guy.
00:39:24
And he was playing a whole character, it seems.
00:39:28
It came out that he was arrested in 2017, because he-- what is it?
00:39:36
I guess the word is violated, yes.
00:39:38
Violate of restraining order.
00:39:39
In 2017.
00:39:40
In 2017.
00:39:41
Yes.
00:39:42
And the documents, according to the Hollywood Reporter, were sealed during the vetting process for the show.
00:39:48
So that's why they didn't know about it, and couldn't see it.
00:39:51
Wait, you could seal.
00:39:52
I thought everything was public knowledge.
00:39:54
Not everything.
00:39:55
I think it just depends on certain cases.
00:39:57
Yeah.
00:39:58
Well, he just spoke out today, though, claiming that all the allegations are not true.
00:40:02
He posted this on Instagram.
00:40:04
She hasn't said anything yet.
00:40:06
I mean, it's still fresh.
00:40:07
We'll see if she's asked anything.
00:40:08
And you mean?
00:40:09
Yeah.
00:40:10
I mean, it's really not her business at this point, right?
00:40:12
They're not together.
00:40:13
No.
00:40:14
I mean, who should come out as the person who gave the restraining order?
00:40:18
Yeah.
00:40:18
I don't think her name is public, honestly.
00:40:20
I don't remember.
00:40:22
But yeah, I'm sure Jen will be asked about it at some point.
00:40:26
Thank you.
00:40:27
Yeah.
00:40:28
What do you think of the new troop members?
00:40:31
I'm really happy for them.
00:40:32
It's like sitting fresh faces.
00:40:34
Yeah, it's always exciting, because you also will get to eventually, hopefully, see them become pros one day.
00:40:41
That's what they're doing this for, you know?
00:40:43
And I'm excited to just get to know them a little bit.
00:40:46
And the guy with the hair in his face, please pull your hair back.
00:40:49
Please.
00:40:50
Let them know.
00:40:51
I want to see your face.
00:40:52
You've got a good face.
00:40:53
