Trudy gained recognition for her efforts in helping free a wrongfully convicted husband/father after he drove a car that suddenly accelerated and caused the deaths of three people. The driver, Koua Fong Lee was sentenced to 8 years in prison for something Trudy feels was not his fault.

She didn’t know Koua, but felt compelled to help him. Through the process, she ended up finding freedom from her own adversities in life and learned some things she believes she wouldn’t have learned or realized had she not helped this family.
