How Vulnerable Should We Really Be? The Deep Connection of Being Authentic
Description
In this episode I am getting personal once again and sharing my journey from someone who always felt the need to keep up appearances, to where I am in my life now vulnerable sharing my truth, with authenticity as one of my top core values. I discuss how social media is all aboutthe highlight reel and the need to be genuine in our interactions. I share my journey towards authenticity, especially during the early stages of my jewelry business, and the shift from trying to sound professional to embracing my true voice. Authenticity, I emphasize, is not only essential but also fun and effortless because it involves simply being ourselves.
When we are authentic, we create resonance, a deep, almost vibrational connection with our audience. While perfection isn't always attainable, keeping core values like authenticity at the forefront helps make genuine interactions more automatic. Practicing authenticity, like any other skill, requires repetition and dedication.
I reflect on personal experiences where I felt the need to share both joyous and sorrowful moments but lacked someone to share them with. I talk about the impact of significant events on my life and how they intertwine with my professional journey. The concept of life as a performance resonates with me, drawing from my background in ballet, where the show must go on despite chaos behind the scenes. This analogy extends to how we navigate life's challenges while maintaining a positive facade.
The importance of being seen, heard, and understood is paramount, and finding people who can hold space for us in our vulnerable moments is crucial. Authenticity in social media and business attracts those who truly resonate with our message, creating deep, meaningful connections. In essence, your vibe attracts your tribe, and being true to oneself is the key to building these authentic relationships.
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” ― Dr. Seuss
