An athletic trainer is a certified and licensed health care professional practicing in sports medicine that specializes in managing, preventing, and recovery of injured athletes. Johnston High School is a high school located in Johnston, Iowa, a suburb of Des Moines. 


 


About Chris Wiedmann, ATC, LAT 


Chris is a graduate of Coe College and has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 1998. He is


also a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the state of Iowa. His job experiences include the USHL


Des Moines Buccaneers, Iowa Central Community College, Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines


Menace PDL and several area high schools as well as being responsible for the AAU Junior


Olympics in 2004, 2009, 2014, and the 2013 Outdoor Track and Field Championships as the


Medical Coordinator. Chris is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and


a member of the Iowa Athletic Trainers Society.
