Description
Welcome to revelation, a podcast brought to you by the folks at hey revel dot com.
Revel is a wellness company focused on writing therapy.
In this episode, we're talking about how to find your voice and use it for good.
Whether you're just starting out or you've been writing for years, there are always new ways to share your story and make it count!
I know that a lot of us are struggling with this, especially as we're navigating through a world where we feel like we're constantly being told what to do, think, or feel.
Personally, I'm trying to figure out how to be myself in the midst of all this noise.
Before we get started, let me just say that this is an incredibly hard topic to talk about. It's something that's really personal, but it's also something that can be really scary and overwhelming.
So please know that if you're feeling a little overwhelmed right now—if you're like "I just don't know where to start," or "What if I don't have what it takes?"—that's totally normal! You've got this!
We all have our own unique way of finding our voices and using them for good, so the first step is figuring out what that looks like for you.
You can do this by asking yourself some questions: What are your interests?
What are your passions?
What do you love doing?
What do people come to you for advice on?
These are all clues about what it looks like for you when you're using your voice for good.
Once you've identified what makes up YOUR voice, then comes the hard part: getting out there and sharing it with the world!
But don't worry—there are lots of ways to share without being super vulnerable or putting yourself out there too much.
First, think about how you want to share your voice.
Do you want to create a blog? Write a book? Podcast?
Each of these mediums have their own unique strengths and weaknesses, so make sure that whatever path you choose is a good fit for both YOUR voice and YOUR audience.
If you're not sure where to start, try doing something simple like sharing on social media or writing in a journal every day.
These activities will help you build up your confidence in your own ability and help you get used to sharing YOUR voice with others.
I hope this has inspired you to find your voice.
I know it's not easy, and it's not always fun. But if you can learn how to speak up for what you believe in, you'll be able to make a difference for yourself and others—and that's definitely worth the effort.
Thanks so much for listening!
