How to Identify and Help a Youth in Crisis with Kelli Hansen of BCC Evolution
Kelli Melissa Hansen, Founder of BCC Evolution, is a Warrior for Mental Health and has dedicated her life to save as many lives as possible by normalizing the conversation around mental health and suicide. After losing her middle sister to a completed suicide in 2017, she founded BCC Evolution, a mental health and suicide awareness nonprofit which is on a mission to ACE; increase Awareness, cultivate Conversation, and provide Education.
She is mom to 3 incredible kids, thrill seeking adventurer and tattoo connoisseur. Kelli is a Mental Wellness Coach, Mental Health Educator and Speaker. She has a B.A. in Communication, minor in Psychology, an NLP Master Practitioner certification from Worldwide Institutes of Neuro Linguistic Programming, certified as an Adult, Youth and Teen instructor for Mental Health First Aid and an author in 3 collaborative books. She has been featured in Authority Magazine, Thrive Global, The Happy Head Podcast, U.K., Life Story Curator and many more which can all be found on her media page at BCC Evolution.
Join our conversation that starts with current youth suicide statistics in Colorado (where Kelli lives) and across the US, and continues into sharing why ONE adult could save a teen's life, and why watching out for mood shifts is so important. We also talked about Youth-Focused Mental Health First Aid; the class we discussed has actually now passed, but we will be sponsoring more in the future!
Also be sure to check out ParenT(w)een University to learn Kelli's suggestions for how to create a personal Safety/Self-Care Plan. www.parentweenconnection.com/parentween-university.
