Description

Ep. #12: Jody Hynes is a Canadian Air Force Search & Rescue Technician who trains military crews in wilderness survival tactics. Until the age of 14, Jody lived a subsistence based lifestyle, surviving off the land, as part of the First Nation Mi'kmaq Band in Newfoundland.

On this episode, Jody teaches us how to build animal snares; types of edible plants; fish salting; beaver trapping; fire building; and avoiding diseases in the wild. He also shares his survival stories of falling through the ice in Canada and rescuing a mountaineer on Denali (20,194ft).
