Description

What else is there, when all the knowledge that is given from protocols and guidelines doesn’t fit? What helps a doctor or therapist meet the needs of an individual patient? How can we come to a diagnosis and therapy that goes beyond numbers and facts, beyond the laboratory findings and diagnostic testing that sometimes still don’t add up to a clear image? Prof. Dr. Erik Baars (MD, epidemiologist, senior healthcare researcher at the Louis Bolk Institute and professor of Anthroposophic Medicine at the University of Applied Sciences Leiden, NL) has evaluated and documented scientific findings on “therapeutic intuition”. He describes situations in which this  seemingly unconscious knowledge suddenly arises in the midst of clinical practice, and also what we can do to develop greater capacity for an intuitive treatment approach and why this topic touches the core of Anthroposophy.
