Humidity levels over 60% can often lead to mold and other growths in your home. A humidistat is a tool used to measure the humidity in the air. Make sure to get a few humidistats to monitor the humidity in different areas throughout the home. A dehumidifier with a humidistat setting can really save you both energy and from future water related issues. The best bet is to buy a pump version and hard plumb it in so you do not need to think about it and empty the heavy bucket.
