Gary experienced a childhood without much love. Humor has been important for him on his way to becoming accepted by others and, more importantly, himself. We discussed humor as a coping mechanism, his book, The King of Average, and his journey alongside the great Viola Spolin, one of the greats in the field of improv theater.
