The Carolina Hurricanes secured a resounding 5-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings, ending their three-game losing streak. Shayne Gostisbehere and Andrei Svechnikov led the charge with four points each. The Hurricanes dominated the second period, scoring three goals in quick succession. Brandon Bussi made 18 saves, improving his record to 12-1-1. Jordan Martinook scored his 100th career goal in an empty-netter, while Eric Robinson scored in three straight games for the first time. Despite Detroits early lead, the Hurricanes held a multi-goal advantage into the third period, though they had previously dropped the previous three such games.
