Nic McDonald speaks with Susan Lynne Hendrix, MHA, PH.D. about her experience with Lupus and how she copes. Susan has three degrees in the field of health and science, she is a past member of the American Health Care Association. But most importantly she is living her best life regardless of having this autoimmune illness. Before Susan was diagnosed with lupus, she owned a successful home medical equipment company along with a medical billing and consultant company. Susan formed the Charlie E & Minnie P Hendrix Foundation which provides assistance to those living with lupus and other chronic illnesses. As a child Susan exhibit all the signs of lupus, sun sensitivity, hair loss, fatigue and joint pain. She was clinically diagnosed in April 2004, lupus and its 39 overlapping conditions has knocked her down, but she always gets back up to fight and advocate for those who are fighting lupus and those who are fighting other chronic illnesses.
