IDK has been continuously putting in work for a minute, a director of the new school in his personal right. Imaginative, charismatic, and technically sound, the Maryland-ass rapper has come through with a new banger named “Trigger Happy.” The Rascal & Vontae Thomas produced track, which is set to kick off his forthcoming album ISHEREAL, sees the rapper wide in his bag, excited to air a kind of grievances. Charming up a fried opening verse, which feels somehow pointed in its vagueness,  IDK reflects on an upcoming deal with a banned name. “But keep it real, I’d rather split half of a mil,” he raps, “than keep the whole hunnid, so my deal with —– is coming.”

In the second verse, IDK presents an exciting bit of penetration, accusing the ever-affable Logic of attempting to stop his bag. “Logic and his manager tried to destroy my deal, I guess that’s what happens when you tell a n***a who spent his whole career pulling that he’s black that he ain’t black still,” reflects IDK. He continues to make it prized it’s not a diss, now acknowledging that Logic will likely ignore the shots. Still, he’s not about to be fazed by any slight, evoking 50 Cent’s shocking “Back Down” as an acceptance of brash confidence.
