Identity with Michael Foti
Description
In this episode, Dawn Baker talks with Dr. Michael Foti. Michael is a dad, a husband, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY. He’s also active as a teacher and mentor to medical students, and he’s the Standardized Patient Program Coordinator at his institution.
During the early part of his career, Michael experienced severe anxiety and depression that initiated his Lean Out journey. We get into the raw emotions and talk about the shame he felt when medicine was his only identity. He now finds great fulfillment spending time with his family, working clinically, doing advocacy for mental health and mentoring medical students.
