Description

This week we have experienced great tragedies in our country in Boston and the little town of West, Texas. In times like this we grasp for peace in the midst of suffering and loss. The promise of peace seems like a far reach. In fact, it might be out of reach for a time among those whose losses were so personal. In spite of the great pain and hurt, we yearn for comfort. In this passage in Numbers 6 we find God giving a blessing to his people as they leave Sinai for the promised land. The journey will not be easy. Great losses and sorrow will be sustained in the journey.

Nevertheless God promises that his face will shine upon them. His presence in their pain will make all the difference.
