All of the hopes and longings of the people of God for a Messiah were coming true right before their eyes. All of our hopes and longings come home to Him too. Can you imagine a wry smile on Jesus’ face as he told John’s disciples what to report? Here it all is. The Kingdom of God is breaking out. Jesus enjoyed being Jesus.
