Have you ever been abandoned by the ones you love the most? Vonora Lewis, founder and organizer of the V.L. Foundation, knows how that pain all too well. In March of 2021, she created a foundation that provides a safe haven for children who have lost their parents or have been abandoned by their parents. The V.L. Foundation works tirelessly to help young people cope with abandonment, pair them with therapists to deal with grief, and get them prepared for their future. She and her team strive to help the black community and those have been failed by the system.
