Description

In this episode, the Yes Girls dive deep into the world of male feminism with a live studio guest, Jeff Dindi, the dynamic force behind @PresentFatherhood. Known for his candid approach to challenging traditional gender roles and advocating for present fatherhood, Jeff brings his unique perspective to the studio.

This season, it's all about what the girls can do in-studio to make it even more blindingly obvious that YOU can say yes to something new even if you're short on time.

This Yespisode begins with a Yes challenge, with Jeff as judge, challenger, and all-seeing, all-knowing guest expert.

The challenge is a 15-minute role-play tackling male feminism via the lens of Parenting and Gender Roles. In the scenario, a couple (played by Akumu and Claire) is discussing household chores and childcare responsibilities. Jeff then rates them, and we hear from him about how he says 'yes' as a male feminist in his daily life and how we can all benefit from feminism.

Yes, this episode delves into the heart of what it means to be a male feminist, what it means to be a feminist ally, father, son, and brother, what we expect from men and why, and how to show an example to the next generation of boys and men. It also uncovers Jeff's personal journey and the misconceptions surrounding the feminist movement, especially in the African and Kenyan context.

You will gain valuable insights into how men can actively participate as champions of feminism and gender equality, redefining masculinity with regard to gender roles, the benefits of a more feminist society, and having men as feminist allies. This yespisode also provides practical tips for anyone who is in a heterosexual relationship, whether or not they are parents.

Tune in as Jeff and the Yes Girls challenge norms, inspire change, and redefine what it means to be feminist in today's world.
