JP Morgan Responds To Jes Staley's Claims About Jamie Dimon (9/28/25)
Update: 2025-09-28
Description
JPMorgan’s response to Jes Staley’s claims about Jamie Dimon has been emphatic denial and distancing: the bank insists that Dimon never discussed Epstein, was not involved in decisions about his accounts, and does not recall ever meeting or communicating with him. In a statement following Dimon’s deposition, JPMorgan accused plaintiffs of mounting a “media stunt” and argued that decades of internal emails and documents provide no basis to implicate Dimon in Epstein-related decisions.
The bank has also litigated aggressively against the idea of further depositions or disclosures implicating Dimon. When the U.S. Virgin Islands sought to depose Dimon a second time in their Epstein-related suit, JPMorgan pushed back, arguing that his initial testimony made clear he had no relevant knowledge of Epstein’s abuse or banking relationship.
