Shareholders At Microsoft And The Push To Remove Reid Hoffman (10/9/25)
Update: 2025-10-09
Description
In recent years, a shareholder group led by the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) has pushed to remove Reid Hoffman from Microsoft’s board due to his historical connections to Jeffrey Epstein. The NLPC cited reports that Hoffman visited Epstein’s private island, Manhattan townhouse, and engaged with him in fundraising efforts even after Epstein’s 2008 sex-offense conviction. They argued that such associations represented a serious reputational risk to Microsoft, urging shareholders to vote against Hoffman’s reelection and calling on the board to request his resignation or hold a special meeting to remove him.
