Shannon Enete is an international resident from San Diego, currently residing in Costa Rica. Her first career of 10 years was spent serving San Diego & Kansas City as a paramedic. Shannon visited over 27 countries by the age of 30. Enete is the author of new release, Becoming an Expat: Costa Rica. She freelances for the Costa Rican Star, Jaco Journal, International Living, A.M. Costa Rica, Global Living Magazine, Pink Pangea, and the Costa Rican Sun.

She is a columnist for Expat Focus and Voz de Guanacaste. In addition to writing, Shannon owns Enete Enterprises, LLC a video and print publication company that specializes in travel guidebooks and the creation of marketing videos for tourism, hospitality, and real estate sectors.

Her first book was Teeth Not Tears: Smiles Through the Rubble, a biographical narrative that told the stories of two Haitian brothers, whom she met while volunteering in Haiti after the earthquake. “Their outlook on life was so beautiful and pure, I had to share their story with the world,” says Enete.

Standout information about Becoming an Expat: Costa Rica – There are a lot of guide books that generally direct you towards life overseas, but few that break down exactly what you need to do to obtain residency, start a business, use the healthcare, move your pets, enroll your children in school, and so on for a particular country. Becoming an Expat Guidebook Series fills that need. Each guidebook will be updated every year or two depending on popularity, plus we will post updates between editions.

These guidebooks are packed with expat experiences, stories, and tips to help merge the gap between how rules and regulations are written on paper and how they actually play out. Also included is which apps are best for expats, which electronics will facilitate easy international living, expansive school lists, handy tax forms, and more.
