Known for their idiosyncratic and organic sample-driven approach to dance music, Keys N Krates continues to evolve their style. House music from their perspective. Influenced by hip hop, tribal rhythms, 90’s house music, RnB, and 70’s disco and soul.
Known for their idiosyncratic and organic sample-driven approach to dance music, Keys N Krates continues to evolve as artists and producers. The Toronto-based trio, made up of Adam Tune, David Matisse, and Greg Dawson, began as a live act that would flip popular hip-hop and dance music tunes. The trio then decided they wanted to create their own music and found success with their breakout single Dum Dee Dum, a song that became an anthem of the subgenre of instrumental trap music. Their affinity for flipping off-kilter samples and writing fun dance floor songs didn’t stop there. They continued to evolve their style over the years, injecting more of their childhood influences into their music until finally arriving at making house music from their perspective, which is influenced by hip hop, tribal rhythms, 90’s house music, RnB, and 70’s disco and soul.
