As the former co-owner of Future Entertainment, Jason Ayoubi is a legend in the Australian dance music scene, being responsible for Summadayze, Future Music Festival, Two Tribes, and Good Life.
With a career spanning 25 years in the live music industry, he also toured some of the world’s largest festivals including Gatecrasher, Ministry of Sound, God’s Kitchen and Global Gathering.
Starting out managing three of Melbourne’s top clubbing venues, Paladin, Billboard and Mansion, everything started going ballistic when he and long-term business partner Mark James launched Orbit @ Mansion. From there they started doing parties at the docks, the Myer Music Bowl, and of course, all across Australia. At its peak, Future Music Festival was shifting a massive 220,000 tickets each tour, and that’s just one of the parties!
Previously recognised by the Australian Music Directory as one of the most powerful people in the industry, Ayoubi has also been heavily involved with various advisory groups over the years, in the ongoing effort to make dance parties safer for all those involved.
These days you can find him on the conference circuit, and back working with his old mate from the Future days, Scott Robertson, as the two of them head up the boutique music operation, Division Agency.
So I hope you enjoy Episode 5 of Series 2, my chat with Jason Ayoubi.
