Jeffrey R. Holland, a prominent figure in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has passed away at 85. He was a key member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and next in line for the churchs presidency. Holland, who grew up in Utah and served as president of Brigham Young University, died from kidney disease complications. His passing creates a vacancy in the Quorum, which will be filled by church leader Dallin H. Oaks.
