Jim Gallagher, a dedicated Philadelphia Eagles executive, has been posthumously honored as a 2026 Awards of Excellence winner in the Public Relations Directors category by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Gallagher, who spent 46 years with the Eagles, will be recognized alongside other winners in Canton, Ohio, next June. He is one of only 17 public relations professionals ever recognized by the Hall. Gallagher, a Philadelphia native and Korean War veteran, started as an office clerk in 1949 and rose through the ranks to become public relations director. He worked with 17 head coaches and 12 owners, general managers, and team presidents during his tenure, which saw the Eagles claim two NFL titles and one NFC championship. Gallagher retired in 1995 and was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame, one of only two front-office executives to receive that honor. He continued to attend practices and games until his death at age 88. This award solidifies Gallaghers legacy as a true Eagles cornerstone and a behind-the-scenes force who built the franchises heart.
