Description
THE MIKE GORMLEY SHOW Featuring Johnny "Bee" Badanjeck, musician, singer, songwriter, and painter who has been a member of various rock bands, including The Romantics, The Detroit Wheels, Alice Cooper, and Ted Nugent.
At 16, John Badanjek, known as Johnny Bee, drummed for Motor City’s premier rock band, Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. He delivered one of rock’s greatest drum breaks, according to Rolling Stone Magazine.
After the band disbanded in 1967, ”Bee" toured and recorded with Edgar Winter, Alice Cooper, Dr. John, Bob Seger, Ronnie Montrose, Nils Lofgren, and others, providing the backbeat for some of rock's legendary tracks.
In 1972, he co-founded The Rockets, showcasing his songwriting skills. He served as drummer and lead vocalist until 1976.
Bee’s songs propelled the group to national prominence and consistently charted on the pop music charts (“Can’t Sleep,” “Turn Up the Radio,” “Takin’ It Back”).
