Whether you love it or hate it, if you’ve seen it, I’m willing to bet you felt strongly in some way about The Joker. It’s a polarizing movie, but I think what makes it extra interesting is the fact that none of it can really be trusted. After all, it’s entirely from the perspective of someone with serious mental issues. Time and time again, we learn of events that didn’t actually happen, that Arthur Fleck made up in his mind. It becomes difficult to know what actually went down and what was simply a figment of his imagination.
In this video, we’ll dive into the theory that the entire movie was imagined by Arthur. Everything that happens, all the way up to the final scene, were just part of one madman’s fabrications. We’ll look at his relationship with his mother, his relationship with his neighbor Sophie, the clown uprising, his transformation into the Joker persona, as well as some fascinating realizations about camera technology in 1981 and the clocks in the movie.
