Jordan is an Old Friend
Description
Today, we’re joined by Jordan—a longtime friend of Tyler and a total beam of light.
Born in Spiro, Oklahoma, Jordan opens up about growing up Black and biracial in a small town where he never quite fit in—not Black enough for the Black kids, not white enough for the white ones. The youngest of six, he shares how he used humor and heart to survive.
We talk about his journey from Oklahoma to Madrid—his first big city—where he felt free for the first time, fell in love (more than once), and began to truly discover himself. From college cheerleading to being bullied into moving back to the U.S., Jordan’s story is one of resilience, reinvention, and healing.
He shares intimate thoughts on identity, trauma, and dating as a Black man in the gay community. Plus: self-help books, becoming a dad, Dave & Buster’s, car accidents, and why sometimes… you just have to pick a fight in a relationship.
