The ballot includes Republican Derek Schmidt, Democrat Nancy Boyda, and Libertarian John Hauer; LaTurner decided not to seek reelection. Both Schmidt and Boyda have previously held high-profile offices and are well-known nationally and in the District. KS-02 includes much of eastern Kansas outside of Douglas, Johnson and Wyandotte counties.
